Close up of the face of a bull Grey seal, Halichoerus grypus, swimming on the surface, Newquay harbour, Cornwall, UK. Grey seals are often photographed in clear open waters, however they will often come into murky harbours to pick up scraps from fishing boats. An adult bull grey seal is around 2 metres (6ft 6 in) in length and weighs about 230 kg (around 500 lbs). Grey seals are attracted into Newquay harbour by mackerel angling tourist tripping boats from which they are often fed unwanted catches.
