A few feet off Battle Avenue, on HyarangisPath, is a beautiful memento of marble in mem-ory of G. G. Griffith Ricture, a sea captain, andrepresents a cottage. At the door stands thehusband taking farewell of his wife. It is veryartistic. The work upon this monument iswell worth mentioning, and a visit. Alas, itwas truly a farewell, for lie was lost in mid-ocean. Can we picture the waitings of thisloving wife, hoping for tidings of her loved one, only at last to hear that he was lost and sleep-ing his last sleep in the silent deep? At the corner of Fern and Atlantic Avenuesstands the large and elegant marble monumentof C. Palmer. On Cherry Hill, and on Cherry Avenue standsthe magnificent brown stone vault of JasperCrasvena. It is very large ana there are onlytwo others of the same stone in the grounds. On this same avenue, William H. Gardinerhas erected an attractive marble figure ofGrief, in memory of his wTfe.
