Staff Sgt. Cody Shields, a Zanesville, Ohio native and instructor on the Army Marksmanship Unit’s Service Rifle Team, assists a Navy cadet attending the 2018 Civilian Marksmanship Programs Rifle Small Arms Firing School July 27 at Camp Perry, Ohio. The annual school that covers safety and various marksmanship techniques is part of the Civilian Marksmanship Program’s National Rifle Matches and is open to current servicemembers, veterans and civilians. Soldiers from the USAMU have instructed the course for over 30 years.
