2nd May, 2018. Port Talbot, Wales, UK. Port Talbot in South Wales has the highest levles of air polliution of any town in the UK according to a new report by the World Health Organisation (WHO). Levels of the finest and possibly the most deadly particulates exceeded those of cities such as London with 18 micrograms per cubic metre. Another steel town, Scunthorpe , was second. Port Talbot has a long history and reputation for having polluted air - it is home to the Tata steelworks and the M4 motorway passes right through on a raised section.
