SS Great Britain, launched , designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, first ship built of iron plate and rivet construction, seagoing life ended in Falkland Islands, salvaged and returned to Bristol dock where built,exposed here interior iron framework down side of ship, made from angle iron 6 x ins, the base plate resting on 10 deep girders running fore to aft - photograph by Roger Daniels
