Great Blue Heron Mating Pair Works together nest building


This particular pair of Great Blue Herons lost its first clutch after the chicks were about a week old. Great Blue Herons do not mate for life but they are monogamous for a season. When a clutch is lost they will breed and try again for a second this pair seemed particularly sweet as they endeavored to make another family.
