The vicuna is one of the four species of camelid found in south america and one of only 2 wild varietes the other being the guanaco which itself is the ancestor of the domestic llama and alpaca Of all species however the vicugna has the finest wool of extremely fine fibres comparable to kashmir for its luxury texture
