It needs the associationof other houses, with small plantations between, andset some sixty feet back from the road, but shouldalways take a position on a line with others such a position, with well-trained grass, nicely-keptwalks, with a few terra-cotta jardinieres, furnishedwith flowering plants, a small fountain, with a fewwell-chosen bushes In the rear, forming clumps im-penetrable to the eye, set in such a manner as toform small vistas, but closing up the view before therear of the lot Is exposed, properly treated in thismanner, a degree of refinement will be thrown overthe whole that even the largest, most pretentious, orcostly houses may lack.
