Since the 17thJuly, I have taken out of this colonycombs of maturing Italian brood—givingthem to other stock—more than enough tomake a good colony of bees. Thus, it willbe seen that the natural life of the honey-bee, in either of these instances, wouldscarcely exceed three months; also, that itrequires only a few months to change anapiary of native bees to those of the Italian INVENTORS, MACHINISTS, MILLWRIGHTS,AND MANUFACTURERS.
