in march 2020,the icebreaker admiral makarov arrived north of franz josef land to refuel the icebreaker kapitan dranitsyn on its way back from the mosaic expedition. the emissions of black carbon served as condensation nuclei and caused a thick fog to be built around the admiral makarov.
