AIKANE was first to finish as an unofficial entry in the 1957 Transpac race and repeated this performance again in the 1959 Race. AIKANE also broke the course record in the 1957 125 mile Newport to Ensenada ocean Race, marking the age of the racing multihull in offshore and ocean races.
