German atrocity in Senlis, France during WWI. The mayor and five other leading citizens are forced to kneel at open graves before being shot in reprisal for the wounding of one German soldier and the death of another by a poacher. It has also been suggested that another twenty four people including women and children were also shot and the town pillaged. From The War Illustrated Album Deluxe, published 1915.
