Lord Anson's Pea (Lathyrus nervosus) flowers and fruits road to Bahia Tunel near El Chalten Santa Cruz Province Patagonia

Lathyrus nervosus the stipules are very large and almost the same size as the leaflets, making it looks like it has a ruff of leaves at each node. L. nervosus does not typically dry black, has slightly fleshy leaves, will probably look more blue-ish grey with a thickish grey waxy coating. Flowers are often more blue-purple. The stipules are almost the same size as the leaflets. In central Patagonia it might be near the coast (although sheltered river valleys might be OK for it too) ID and comments by Gregory Kenicer PhD Education Department Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh 20A Inverleith Row Edinburgh EH3 5LR UK
