September 8, 2024, Kolkata, India: In a unique protest, city rickshaw pullers marched with their hand-pulled rickshaws from Hudua Park to College Street Junction ( km) to demand justice for the rape and murder of an on-duty doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, exactly one month ago. The non-political protest saw common men joining them, reflecting the community’s deep concern ahead of the second hearing at the Supreme Court of India. The march highlighted the call for swift justice and better protection for healthcare workers.
