Circular genome map. Map showing shared genetic material between human chromosome 1 (outer ring, top centre to far right, anti-clockwise) and the entire mouse genome (top right). The chromosomes are based on standard idiograms and arranged in a circle. The coloured lines connect genes that are orthologous to one another, where the genes have shared the same ancestry. The numbers on the chromosomes represent scale bars. This map was created using Circos, software which visualises complex genetic comparisons between different species or within the same species.
