Such a comb should be discounted. one and a half points for general shape, one point for hollowin front and one point for poor serrations. WATTLES AND EARLOBES. The section embracing wattles and earlobes is valued atten points and is divided into four for wattles and six forlobes. In scoring it is subdivided again, especially so in thelobes, allowing at least three points for color. While thissection is one that has no commercial value, next to comb itis the most important sectionof the Brown Leghorn. Apoor earlobe is one of the veryfirst defects that a painstak-ing fancier will discard fromhis breeding pens. I will now call the readersattention to chart No. 1 andask him to look carefully atthis illustration. There areseveral points in connectionwith this bird to which I wantto call special attention, espe-cially to the shape and size of the earlobes and wattles.
