Masked Yi revellers at the Hongwan Fireworship Festival


The Fireworship Festival of the Axi Yi in Hongwan Village is one of Yunnans wildest events. This image shows several men covered in body paint dancing. The village has become well known by Chinese tourists for the raucuous carnival held there at the beginning of the second lunar month.
