Jazz pianist Brad Mehldau performed J S Bach transcriptions at the Wigmore Hall, London and signed albums after the concert. In this photograph, Brad Mehldau is signing his new CD for a fan.


Brad Mehldau, the leading jazz pianist of his generation and known for soulful interpretation of popular music performed his transcriptions of popular J S Bach compositions, including the Well-Tempered Clavier and the Fugue. At the end of the concert, Brad Mehldau was awarded the Wigmore Hall Medal for, among many other things, “Bringing joy and music of the highest possible level”. After the last encore, Mehldau, in his casual red check shirt, came out of the concert auditorium and signed albums for fans.
