1890: Ruins of a Romanesque doorway in Strata Florida Abbey, a former Cistercian abbey founded in 1164, just outside Pontrhydfendigaid, near Tregaron in the county of Ceredigion, Mid-Wales. It was dissolved and sacked in 1539 during Henry VIII's dissatisfaction with the Catholic Church in Rome.
