Both dome and aisle are, as is general in these buildings,without wooden roofs, but they retain the outward form of such roofs,the masonry being filled in above the dome until it assumes the out-line of a cone, and above the vault of the aisle an inclined planeof masonry being formed, corresponding to a lean-to roof.
