Wilhelm Wundt (1832-1920), German psychologist. Wundt established the first formal laboratory for psychological research, the Institut fur Experimentelle Psychologie, in 1879. It was situated at the University of Leipzig where he was professor of inductive philosophy from 1875-1917. He also founded he first journal for psychological research in 1881 and is often referred to as the \Father of Experimental Psychology\" and the \"Founder of Modern Psychology\"."
