His wish was realized through the firm ofClifford, Smith and Frye, and in 1889, while still in their employ, hewas admitted to practice before the appellate court. In the year following his admission to the Illinois bar Mr. East-man became connected with the office of George W. Woodbury,with whom he remained until 1892, when he formed a partnershipwith John J.
