Eepresenta- tives of many organizations attended, including the Massachusetts Horticul- tural Society, Gardeners' and Florists' Club of Boston, New England Botanical Club, Arnold Arboretum, New England Nurserymen's Association, the Women's National Farm and Garden Association, many garden clubs, etc. The success- ful outcome of this bill's passage will undoubtedly be helpful in the passage of bills later to protect other flowers, and among these the mountain laurel will undoubtedly figure. Ezhibitions of 1922. The Massachusetts Horticultural So- ciety will hold the following exhibitions in 1922: March 23 to 26—Spring bulbous plants. May 15 to 20—Groat exhibition of native ferns and wild flowers. June 3 and 4—Rhododendron, azalea and iris show. June 17 and 18—Peony show. June 24 and 25—Roses, sweet peas and late peonies. The American Sweet Pea Society will hold its show at the same time. August 12 and 13—Gladiolus show, with the New England Gladiolus So- ciety cooperating. August 26 and 27—Children's gar- dens show. September 9 and 10—Dahlia, fruit and vegetable show. November 4 and 5—Annual autumn show. Various Notes. Carnation night will be celebrated by the Gardeners' and Florists' Club, Feb- ruary 23. There will be several talks by leading specialists and a fine array of exhibits of new and stand
