Alfonso II the Chaste (c,760-842). King of Asturias (791-842). Son of Fruela I and Munia. He was dethroned by his uncle Mauregato (783-788) and had to take refuge in Alava. Later, Bermudo I the Deacon abdicated in him. Detail of the statue placed next to the Cathedral of the Holy Saviour or San Salvador.
