The ancient Galilee boat on display at the Yigal Allon Centre (also called the Jesus Boat Museum) on the shores of the Sea of Galilee in Israel. Remains of the boat, believed to be about 2,000 years old, were discovered in 1986 when a drought lowered the level of the lake. It was painstakingly removed and preserved by soaking in a polyurethene glycol mixture for 10 years. The boat is mainly oak and cedar but also includes 10 other kinds of wood.
