London Heathrow Airport, London, UK. 12th Nov, 2020. The effect that COVID-19 has had on air travel has resulted in a number of airlines retiring their Boeing 747 Jumbo Jets. Virgin Atlantic's final 747 - registration G-VROY and named Pretty Woman – had been in store at Ciudad Real airport, Spain, since June and has today returned to Heathrow for maintenance. It has been sold to Atlas Air in the US and will fly out in December. With British Airways also having disposed of its 747s this will possibly be the final passenger 747 at Heathrow, though cargo versions are in use
