That business Is poor, nobody will deny. A leading wholesaler has just stated : "We have about two good days a ; The wholesalers who handle large shipments of chrysanthe- mums are doing the best they can with them, but they move slowly. American Beauties and all other roses are hard to move at what was formerly con- sidered fair prices, and the same may be stated relating to orchids, lilies, lily of the valley and carnations. NOTES. At New Rochelle there was a very excellent show. The Scott Brothers of Elmsford, Geo. E. Baldwin of Mamar- oneck, A. N. Pierson, Inc., Cromwell, Conn., and a number of private grow- ers, including P. W. Popp, Mamaroneck, made fine exhibits. During the show a party made a side trip to the range of Scott Brothers, Elmsford. They were escorted by the well-known James Scott and his nephew, Wm. Scott, Jr., who ran the machine. The party included Alex. Cumming, Jr., of ; N. Pierson, Inc., R. Beers of the same firm; Prank Sealy of the Julius Roehrs Co., Rutherford, N. J., and the writer of these notes. At the range of the Scott Bros., we found mariy good features. The wedding of Miss Alice Clarke to John Ashwell took place in St. Patrick's church, Jersey City, on October 4. The bridesmaid was Miss Grace Miller, daughter of Wm. H. Miller, the
