PRICES of brushes for some timepast have been governed largely bythe prices which the brush makerspaid for their supplies of bristles inApril, May and June of 1918. Betweenthe time a contract is made for bristlesand they are received from China, gener-ally from four to six months elapse. Bythe time the bristles are boiled, straight-ened and dressed and are ready formanufacturing into brushes eight ornine months has usually passed from thedate of the purchase. Every largebrush maker, therefore is practicallyusing up bristles for which he contract-ed a year previously. Prices Were Easier In March
