The empty hotels of Varosha near Famagusta offer an eerie backdrop.
A scary scenery offers the skyline of Varosha near Famagusta. Once a prosperus bathing resort it is occupied by the Turkish army and a ghost town since Turkey's invasion on Cyprus in 1974. Behind Varosha runs the Green line witch is controlled by the UN (UNFICYP) and separates the island in a Turkish Cypriot and a Greek Cypriot part.
