Crucible Mixer The crucible mixers as shown in cut are made for themixing of crucible bodies and the amalgamation of saggerclays, etc. It is so arranged that when the clay is putin the top of the machine it is thoroughly mixed by specialarranged knives, thence the material is passed to the backof the machine where a conveyor catches it and carriesit up the back and discharges same into the top of the tankagain. This operation is carried on continually until thematerial is thoroughly mixed, then the sliding door isopened and the material discharged. This machine can bearranged for front or bottom discharge and is built intwo sizes, the No. 1 or small size has a capacity ofapproximately 1,500 pounds of material per hour, and thelarge or No. 2 size has a capacity of 5,000 pounds per hour. These machines are of very heavy construction through-out, with bevel steel gear and pinion, and the rest of thegearing is machine cut throughout. The wheels whichdrive the
