Unloading the Wounded - Cape Gloucester. Coast Guardsmen help unload wounded invaders at the ramp of a Coast Guard manned LST (Landing Ship, Tanks) beached at Cape Gloucester, New Britain. Mechanized equipment rolled through the bow doors, down the ramp, a short time before. The LSTs officers' wardroom was converted into an emergency hospital.
