On March 15 the Florists' Club held its first annual spring flower show in Guernsey's hall, Washington avenue, from 3 to 10:30 p. m. No admission fee was charged and any one who desired to do so was at liberty to go and feast his or her eyes, ears and sense of smell upon the mass of beauty of color, de- lightful odors and excellent music there provided. This exhibition was the first of its kind to be held in this city and, judging from its success, the affair will be held annually hereafter. The object of the exhibition was to give the residents of this city some idea of what can be pro- duced by the local floriculturists. The Florists' Club is one of the youngest or- ganizations in the city, being only a year and a half old, and has a membership of 75- Monthly meetings are held, at each of which exhibits for the benefit of the members are made and contests provid- ed ; it is the intention that the exhibitor showing the largest number of points of excellence at the end of the year, shall be rewarded with a handsome silver cup. For this purpose a standing board of six judges have been appointed, whose duty it is to pass upon the exhibits of each month. The board of judges is com- prised of the following: Wm. MacDon- ald, Moosic, W. C. Clark, B. E. Cokely, G. R. Clark, Jonathan Rodham and Ed- gar McConnell. Of this number three were appointed to pass upon the merits of the exhibits presented. Local exhibitors were: Marvin & Muir, G. R. Clark & Co., A. Schultheis & Co., T. B. McClintock, Thomas Arner, Ralph Harwood, John Hill, gardener to T. H. Watkins; J.
