Village of Mey, Scotland. Internal view of the Castle and Gardens of Mey Visitors Centre tearooms. Formerly Barrogill Castle this 16th century ruined castle was purchased by HM Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother, in 1952. After major restoration of the castle, the Queen Mother stayed and visited her Scottish home on an annual basis for almost fifty years. The castle and gardens are a popular visitor attraction for both British and international tourists. The Castle and Gardens of Mey are now managed by the Queen Elizabeth Castle of Mey Trust.
