Crude sulphur isobtained in considerable quantities from the vicinity of thevolcanoes, also nitre and sulphate of iron; but the entireexports of the republic do not exceed one million of dollarsannually. The imports in manufactured goods and liquors amountto about half that sum. From Great Britain are imported calicoes and other man*ufactured cottons, hardware, lead, gunpowder, etc., etc.; andfrom the United States, soap, candles, hardware, brandy, gun-powder, etc. SAN SALVADOR.
