Drug-related bruising on the arm of an 88-year-old man. At the time of the bruising, the patient was taking the anticoagulant drug edoxaban, a drug that impairs the ability of blood to clot. This can lead to bruising even after minimal trauma, as seen here. The drug is being taken to prevent a stroke in a case of atrial fibrillation (AF), a type of irregular heartbeat.
