It was while engaged in this work that he sired the registered mare Dolly, who secured sixth place in the 1921 endurance ride. He was then lent for community breeding in North Carolina in cooperation with the agricultural experiment station at West Raleigh, where he remained until trans- ferred to the Remount Service of the War Department in Fig. 10—Red Oak 5249. In the fall of 1921 his attendant received permission to show the stallion at the 1921 Kansas State Fair, and shortly afterwards forwarded the following telegram to his commanding officer: "Linsley won first in Morgan class and sweep- stakes over all. Kansas State Fair considers him the finest Morgan horse in ; Magistrate 7232, chestnut, foaled 1919; sire Sealskin 6500; dam Folly 03093, by Bennington 5693. Bred by the U. S. Morgan Horse Farm and transferred to the Remount Service of the War Department in 1921. Melvin 7231, chestnut, foaled 1919; sire Scotland 6000; dam Sunflower Maid 02401, by Headlight Morgan 4683.
