Red Funnel Ferries ply regularly between Southampton and Cowes on the Isle of Wight all year round. They carry vehicles both private and commercial and also foot passengers, many of whom are commuters who live on the island but work on the mainland. The Isle of Wight is also a big holiday destination. the Red Eagle seen in the image is returning to Southampton from Cowes.
