Red Juneating, erroneotisly, of some American gardens. A beautiful variety, which is said to have originated in theneighbourhood of New-York, and appears in the markets therefrom July till September. It is quite distinct from the EarlyRed Margaret, which has no fragrance, and a short stem Fruit round-ish, narrowingtow^ards the smooth andfair, finely stripedand stained withbright and darkred, on a yellow-ish white an inchand a half long,rather slenderand uneven, in-serted in a deepcavity. Calyxrather small, in ashallow, narrowbasin. Flesh white, slightlytinged with rednext the skin,tender, subacid,and very spright-ly and brisk in. Early Sirawb&rry. flavour, with an agreeable aroma. Fruit belowmedium size, roundish-ovate,tapering towardsthe eye. Skingreenish yellow,pretty well cover-ed by stripes ofdark red. Stalkshort and closed, andplaced in a veryshallow plaitedbasin. Flesh white, sub-acid,and when freshlygathered from thetree, of a richagreeable flavour. This is distinct from
