Uvda Air Base, Israel, satellite image. Uvda Air Base is located in southern Israel near the Jordanian border. It is one of three air bases built to replace those in the Sinai vacated by the Israeli Air Force as a result of the 1979 Peace Treaty with Egypt. The airbase, which was built by the US, opened in 1981. Taken by the Ikonos satellite on 5 September 2001.
