Ms. Mindy Simonson, Scientific Recovery Expert at the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA), builds rapport with locals in the East Sepik Province, Papua New Guinea on Sep. 14, 2022. The investigation team visited multiple areas across the mountainous East Sepik Province in hopes of recovering missing service members lost during World War II. DPAA’s mission is to achieve the fullest possible accounting for missing and unaccounted-for personnel to their families and the nation.
