Hereceivetl his early education in the public schools ofOmaha and attended Cornell University in the Classof 18S1 until the close of his Junior year, when heleft to enter the Columbia Law School. He gradu-ated from the latter institution in 1882, and was ad-mitteil to the Bar of Douglas county, Nebraska, inthe winter of that year. He served as PrivateSecretary to his father during the latters term asUnited States Senator, and also served as clerk tothe Committee on Territories of the United States. CHAS. SAUNDERS Senate. In iS,S;, Mr. Saunders located in Montana,and during the ensuing three years served as ChiefClerk in the Assay office in Helena.
