Ropy Milk BACTERIAL TROUBLE THAT MUST BE TRACED One of the ttujst tiresome tilings the dairyfanner lias to contend with—and one which isprevalent at the present lime in several districts—is that condition of milk known as ropincss or sliminess, names descriptive jof thepeculiar character assumed by the milk. Con-siderable loss will be sure to result when thisfault occurs, for the milk, though not consideredactually harrSful to health, is unwholesome inappearance. Instead of pouring easily from onevessel to another, ns is the case when it is in anormal condition, infected milk draws out intolong, slimy threads; sometimes as much as ayard in length. It is thick,-viscous, and mostunappetising and uninviting. The trouble is difficult to deal with on accountof its mysterious character. It may appeal inone churn of milk on two or three occasions, notnecessarily consecuti
