Only rod fishing is permitted ; mostan2;lers use the fly, but some try trolling witli the minnow. FISHING 11 a The catch for tlie season of 1910, a record one, was41,064 trout of an aggregate weight of 29,200 lbs. Thesefigures may be compared with the average annual catchfor the years 1895-99: 16,746 trout of 11,421 Ihe heaviest trout ever cauirht in the lake. An Angling Club starting from Loch Leven pier scaled nearl}^ 10 lbs., but the average weight is about i years ago—especially in 1902 and 1903—greattrouble was caused by Canadian weed, which not onlyinterfered with the angling but also rendered rowing verydif^cult in the shallow waters. 8—2 116 KINROSS-SHIRE II.
