Plaque on the outside of the chancel wall of St Mary the Virgin Church Essendon, Hertfordshire, which reminds us of the day on Sunday 3rd September 1916 when a German Zeppelin dropped bombs which caused damage necessitating the rebuilding of the chancel, vestry, and organ chamber which were reopened on Sunday 2nd September 1917.
