The tomb of Father HUBERT (assistant of Dom CARLIER) The Chapel of Our Lady of Pépiole Chemin de Pépiole 83140 Six-Fours-Les-Plages (France) GPS N / E Built by the monks of Saint Victor Abbey in Marseilles from 8th to 12 th centuries on the remains of a worship place dated 5/6 th century (sacrificial stone at the entrance of the chapel) . From the parking place one walk through a vineyard,an olive grove and a meadow. The tall cypresses are sign of welcome according to the Provençal tradition. The sanctuary has four distinctive parts : Three parallel naves and a posterior room in the Syrian style (inspired by Saint Cassien ?). During the French Revolution,the building had been vandalized and falled into a semi-oblivion until Dom Paul-Celestin CHARLIER (with the assistance of Father Hubert),a monk from the Abbey of Maredsous in Belgium,undertook the reconstruction in 1956 and created,having no money to create the false stained-glass windows made of broken bottles figuring « The Holy Trinity », « The Miracle of Multiplying Fish and Bread », »The Veneration of the Holy Bread » and « The Burning Bush ». A must-see on the Côte d’Azur. Visits every day from 3 PM to 6 PM
