A German cuirassier helmet,circa 1620 Iron,blackened skull,forged in two pieces with a comb and plume socket,heavy fixed nasal,riveted brim rising to a point,large cheek flaps which can be fastened in front to the gorget with hooks,and riveted neck guard. Rolled-under rims surrounded by iron lining rivets. Old blacking. Height 34 cm. Small crack on left side,otherwise in good condition.
