Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse, was built in 1888 on a mile long "breakwater" in Rockland Harbor at Rockland, Maine. The small, square, 25 foot tower stands at the end of a long platform of squared off granite blocks created to quell the high waves rolling in from the sea in this previously unprotected harbor.
