Low magnification light micrograph of an adult human pineal gland showing lobulation of the parenchyma. The pineal parenchyma tends to be organized into rounded units separated by connective tissue septa where the blood vessels are placed. However, unlike the true lobes present in the exocrine glands, these units are not completely delimited but are widely fused with the neighbouring units. Magnification: x90 when printed at 10 centimetres across.
