Birling Gap, Eastbourne, East Sussex, UK. 25 October continues to replace the beach access steps at the South Downs National Trust beauty spot. Accelerated erosion of the Chalk cliffs has required the work to be carried out, for Public Safety reasons some years sooner than anticipated. Some persons on the clifftops above are getting precariously close to the edge apparently unaware of the unstable nature of the Chalk & the severe undercutting. Approprite Warning signage does not seem to be in place. .
