The table reproduces very perfectly the form of the ancient tripod. It is three feet in height. Three lions' paws, ornamented with foliage, support the centre, around which are three sitting figures of Faith, Love, and Hope, whoso meeting wings bear up the centre pillar of the table, the top of which is thirty inches in diameter and four thick. This top bears on the centre a ground plan of the city of Berlin, surrounded by a raised border, in which are introduced, in gold and enamel, the arms of the various wards of the plateau of the base contains two groups of figures, Science and Art, and Commerce and centre of the whole work is the vase, nearly 4ft. high, of a very elegant and pure form, and bearing round its body a relief consisting of upwards of seventy figures, representing the entry of the princely pair into Berlin'.
